Now on YouTube, the American Schools of Oriental Research presents ASORtv.
A resource of Friends of ASOR, ASORtv, will host a wide array of archaeological videos. Videos will range from interviews with fellowship recipients, to previews of lectures, to the ASORtv original series “Ask An Archaeologist”.
The fellowship and grant recipient interviews chronicle the experiences of recipients at their dig sites abroad. ASOR offers several grants and fellowships support for excavations and for participation in the ASOR Annual Meeting. Through our affiliated overseas research centers (ACOR, AIAR, and CAARI), financial support is provided for research in Cyprus, Jerusalem, and Jordan.
Our lecture previews will offer clips from presentations you might have missed. In October, Friends of ASOR will begin a quarterly webinar series. Lecture videos will also include video from ASOR sponsored events and presentations from the ASOR Annual Meeting.
Presented by Friends of ASOR, “Ask an Archaeologist” will be a weekly YouTube show in which viewers will submit questions, either through email, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube videos of their own, and the ASORtv team will have them answered by archaeologists. Our goal for “Ask an Archaeologist” is to provide access to high-quality, entertaining information about archaeology from practicing archaeologists.
