The Committee for Publications of ASOR announces a call for the nominations of the editor/s of ASOR’s Archaeological Report (ASOR-ARS) Series. The term of office for the position is three years, beginning January 1, 2021 and is eligible to be renewed one time. Review of nominations will begin September 1, 2020 and continue until the position is filled. The Committee for Publications seeks to send nominations to the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees by November of 2020. This is a voluntary and unpaid position.
Self-nominations are preferred and should include the following items: 1) a one-paragraph academic biography; 2) a brief statement describing why the candidate is interested in the position and qualifications for the position (such as previous editing experience); and 3) contact information (including e-mail and phone). If a candidate is being nominated by another person, we seek the candidate’s name, a short academic history, a brief statement describing why the candidate would be appropriate for the position, contact information, and, most importantly, a statement from the candidate that he, she or them agrees to their name being placed into nomination.
See below for a list of responsibilities. Candidates are also encouraged to contact the current editor, Hanan Charaf (hcharaf@yahoo.fr), for more information about the series and the responsibilities. Nominations for each position should be directed to Kevin McGeough, Chair of ASOR’s Publications Committee (kmcgeough@gmail.com), with a copy to the ASOR office (publications@asor.org).
