The ASOR is pleased to announce that 65 titles are now openly available through the partnership with Google and HathiTrust (@hathitrust on Twitter). The HathiTrust Digital Library is a digital preservation repository and highly functional access platform. It provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and in copyright content from a variety of sources, including Google, the Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives.
Our titles are available under a CC-BY-NC-ND license, while a handful of titles are open in the public domain. These titles are available for reading and downloading worldwide in efforts to carry out ASOR’s mission to initiate, encourage and support research into, and public understanding of, the cultures and history of the Near East from the earliest times.
Available titles include: Symposia Celebrating the Seventy-Fifth Anniversary of the Founding of the American Schools of Oriental Research (1900-1975) by Frank Moore Cross, The Other Side of Jordan by Nelson Glueck, The Role of Human Sacrifice in the Ancient Near East by Alberto Ravinell Whitney Green, and more.
